magnifyseo SEO is essential to getting traffic to your website and it is easy to fall prey to phony SEO companies. Find out what you need to know to spot a real SEO firm so you can make more money!

I am tired of hearing about people getting burned by phony SEO providers. Let me start out by stating that we are not an SEO/SEM firm, as I am sure they have all written similar articles that try to make them sound like the best choice... ignore those.

SEO or Search Engine Optimization is the most popular form of SEM (Search Engine Marketing) and is basically the effort to boost your ranking to the top of Google. Every website design company claims to do SEO. The truth about most of these website design companies is that they are actually white-labeling another firm's services or that they are terrible at SEO.

White-labeling means they pretend to do the SEO work for your site and outsource it to another company. This instantly makes it difficult to get decent communication about the SEO being done on your site. The truth is that either they are experts at website design or they are experts at Internet marketing and SEO.

Ever remember hearing about the boat-car? Why work with a company that claims to be a boat-car? If it was such a great idea, then why don't we all drive one of those? I'll tell you why: it boats like a car and drives like a boat - terrible.

Here are 10 tips to selecting a legitimate SEO firm:

What to look for in an SEO/SEM firm:

  1. Legitimate businesses that you recognize or trust, trust them with their business.
  2. They have real examples of real results.
  3. Contract terms are month-to-month and not six months or a year.
  4. They provide transparency.
  5. They are available and are easy to reach.
  6. They can and are willing to explain the nerdy things they do to help your site.
  7. They provide reports and have analytics available directly from a legitimate third party (ie. Google Analytics).
  8. When you call them they can tell you exactly what has been done on your site that month, by whom, and when.
  9. They do white-label SEO for website design firms. Only real SEO companies offer SEO white-labeling as a major service.
  10. Website Design is not their focus - SEO is.

White Label?

About white-labeling SEO... This is not how we do business here at OpenPotion. I don't white-label SEO - I just send you to the most effective and affordable firm that would fit your goals.  I was very picky before settling on an SEO firm to send clients to.  And we don't white-label SEO.  One firm that I refer people to does SEO for Experian, Disney, Pixar, etc., and also does white-label SEO for many website design firms.   Not only that but since they are based in Idaho Falls, Idaho they charge a fraction of the cost of their major competitors that are based in Los Angeles, New York, or some other expensive metropolis.  Also, there are just good, honest, and friendly people in Idaho.

Please don't wast time doing SEO with a firm that does not make that their primary focus.  Rather than waste time and money, as most people do in working with phony SEO firms or website design firms that claim they do great SEO, give me a call and I'll steer you in the right direction.  Yes, even if you already have a website (they'll reward me for sending them business).

Imagine how awesome it would be to get real results even if it cost a bit more than phony SEO firms it would be well-worth it!

Fill out this quick form or call me and I'll personally make sure a marketing firm calls you. The page you are trying to access does not exist.
